Built as the first Cathedral for Guadalajara (Nueva Galicia) in the year 1549 makes this the oldest building in the region, this church was part of the same building that houses the Palace of Justice today. It has three simple Doric style doors; it has no steeples and its dome is based on an oval ring. Inside altars with 19th Century Corinth retable are remarkable. On baroque frames there are four big murals covering arches canvas signed by Antonio Enriquez. It has a sacristy painting collection, one of the best of Guadalajara, forming the 18th century on Saint Dominic´s life.
