Unique in its type. This museum shows all the modeling expression forms that are produced by our potters. In the showcases of this museum are kept real treasures of popular art, which express myths and realities, as the feeling of the pottery makers from Tonalá and other points of the country.
Located at El Refugio Cultural Center
Its construction began in 1865, It is remarkable for its size and architectonic different styles. It was until 1979 used as a hospital and in 1983 was taken over by the municipality as a historical and cultural center. Since 1985, it is used as the Cultural Center to preserve its architecture. Inside this jewel part of it is used as the museum of the Pantaleón Panduro Ceramic National Award. The Refugio is used twice a year as an expo-center of art and artesans during the Enart Exposition where buyers and sellers meet. It also holds cult expresions such as the Altars for the day of the death and a scary display of instruments of torture.
